Orders & Shipping
How do you ship your packages?
At Salt & Shea, we work hard to ensure your handmade products arrive quickly and safely. Shipping costs are calculated based on weight and distance to provide the most accurate rates possible. All packages are shipped via USPS Priority Mail, and tracking information will be sent to you via email once your order is on its way.
We aim to ship all orders within 1–3 business days. If there’s an unexpected delay, we’ll notify you promptly via email or text.
Why do I have to pay for shipping?
We understand that paying for shipping can be frustrating. However, we pride ourselves on crafting high-quality, natural products using ethically sourced ingredients in small batches. By charging only what it costs to ship your order, we can focus on offering fair prices for our products without compromising their quality or sustainability.
Do you offer free local pick-up?
Yes! If you’re in the Sacramento area, you can skip the shipping fees by choosingFREE LOCAL PICK-UP at checkout. We’ll send you an email and text with instructions once your order is ready for pick-up.
Do you ship internationally?
At this time, Salt & Shea ships within the United States only. We’re working on expanding to international shipping soon, so stay tuned!

Returns & Exchanges
What is your return policy?
Due to the nature of our handmade self-care and wellness products, we cannot accept returns. However, unopened and unused items may be exchanged within 7 days of purchase.
If your order arrives damaged or if you have concerns about a product, please contact us at via email.We’re happy to help resolve any issues.
What happens if my order is damaged during shipping?
We take great care in packaging our products to prevent damage. However, if your package arrives damaged, please email us atJaymer@saltandshea.com with photos of the damaged items and packaging, and we’ll make it right.

I’m concerned about harsh chemicals and toxic ingredients. What’s in your products?
We hear you! At Salt & Shea, we prioritize safe and natural ingredients. All our self-care and wellness products are handmade in small batches in our Sacramento studio and are free from parabens, phthalates, sulfates, petroleum, paraffin, gluten, other harsh irritants.
We are also proud to be Palm Oil Free, Cruelty Free, and free of animal testing. Your skin deserves only the best!
What does “Phthalate-Free” mean?
Phthalates are chemical compounds often used in beauty and household products to enhance fragrance longevity or improve texture. However, these chemicals have been linked to potential health concerns, including hormone disruption and skin irritation.
At Salt & Shea, we believe in creating safe, natural products that you can trust. That’s why all of our products are phthalate-free, meaning we never use these harmful chemicals in our formulations. Instead, we rely on high-quality, non-toxic alternatives to deliver beautiful scents and effective results without compromising your health or the environment.
How long do your soaps last? Do they lather?
Our soaps are designed to last and provide a luxurious experience. To maximize their lifespan, store them in a dry, well-ventilated space between uses. When properly cared for, they can last up to a year.
Our cold-process soap recipe is carefully formulated to create a hard, long-lasting bar with a rich, creamy bubbly lather.
How should I store my candles and apothecary products?
For best results, store our candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Apothecary products, like skincare, body scrubs and lotions should also be kept in a cool area and used within six months of opening to maintain their freshness and effectiveness.
Are your products safe for sensitive skin?
Yes! Our products are crafted with gentle, skin-loving ingredients, making them suitable for most skin types, including sensitive skin. If you have specific allergies or sensitivities, we recommend reviewing the full ingredient list on each product page or contacting us for more details.

Yes! Salt & Shea gift cards are available for purchase on our website. Once purchased, you’ll receive an email with a gift card code for easy redemption.
